Dr. John L. Bailey - President & Senior Scientist
Dr. Adam G. Yates - Scientist & Watershed GIS Specialist
Dr. Robert C. Bailey - Senior Scientist
John Bryant - Mapping and GIS Services
John is based on Dawson City, Yukon and is owner/operator of Mammoth Mapping. John has many years of experience in the mapping industry, primarily in the Yukon, NWT and BC, but also internationally. He has a broad range of skills and experience, but specializes in cartography & graphic design, online mapping, field data collection, geographic databases, and spatial analysis.
A BSc and MSc graduate of the University of Guelph, Dr. Bailey did his doctoral studies at The University of Western Ontario, and became a faculty member at Western in 1986, where he eventually led development and operation of campus-wide, interdisciplinary research and education programs in Environment and Sustainability. Dr. Bailey’s research activities have centred on bioassessment of freshwater ecosystems, from Yukon streams affected by placer gold mining to Alberta wetlands exposed to agricultural, urban, and energy industrial activity, to stream agroecosystems in southwestern Ontario exposed to intense and varied agricultural activities. In 2009, Dr. Bailey started an appointment at Cape Breton University in Sydney, Nova Scotia, as Vice-President Academic & Provost, where his research focus is bioassessment and biomonitoring of Cape Breton streams with an ecological legacy of past industrial activity, and he teaches statistics for researchers.
Dr. Trefor B. Reynoldson - Senior Scientist
A BSc graduate of the University of Guelph, Dr. Yates did his masters and doctoral studies at The University of Western Ontario examining relationships between stream biota and agricultural land use and land management practices acting at the catchment scale. Currently a Visiting Fellow at Environment Canada, Dr. Yates’ research continues to centre on the role of landscape characteristics in regulating the structure and function of freshwater ecosystems and applying this knowledge to the development of bioassessment techniques. With expertise in GIS applications, particularly as they pertain to improved description of landscape characteristics and watershed delineation, Dr. Yates has conducted GIS analyses for numerous environmental assessment projects across Canada and has extensive experience in the derivation of landscape scale variables for CABIN models.
